Students who are permanent residents of the Pacific Islands listed
below are eligible to apply, in particular students from the American
Samoa Community College, University of Guam, University of Hawaii,
Northern Marianas College, College of the Marshall Islands, College of
Micronesia-FSM, Palau Community College and community colleges in Guam
and Hawaii. We also welcome applications from other underrepresented
minority groups, including Native Americans, African Americans and
Hispanics, who have a special interest in the Pacific Islands.
We are most interested in students who wish to seek bachelors and
graduate degrees by conducting research that aims towards increasing
understanding or improving environmental conditions on the Pacific
islands, and who anticipate spending their lives in the Pacific
Islands.
Students should be citizens of:
- the US
- US unincorporated territories (Guam, American Samoa)
- US commonwealth countries (Northern Marianas)
- countries that have Compacts of Free Association with the US (Palau, Marshall islands, Federated States of Micronesia)
