Click to Meet

Overview

The Click to Meet software is a server-based application that hosts videoconferences and meetings among groups of people working at their own personal computers. Meetings may involve audio and video interaction among participants, as well as shared files, document presentation, shared web browsing and a shared white board.

People who want to participate in Click to Meet conferencing must have access to a PC computer running Windows XP. The Click to Meet conference client will work only with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6. All conferencing activities are presented within the web browser window after a small conference client program is downloaded and installed.

Getting Started

If you plan to view and listen to meetings without participating, all you need is a PC computer, Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6.

Click to Meet Hardware: In order to participate in conferencing activities you will need to buy and install a web camera, speakers and a microphone. Before proceeding, with Click to Meet you should acquire the necessary hardware, install the drivers and make sure everything is working.

Install and Configure the Click to Meet Client: The software required for Click to Meet is installed from a web page. Before installing the client, make sure you have installed the patch described at the top of this page.

Using Click to Meet

The easiest way to launch Click to Meet is to click the taskbar icon and select Conference Home. This will open a web page with the main Click to Meet window. In this window, type the Virtual Room ID for the meeting you wish to attend in the blank space and click Join Now!. You do not need to login to use Click to Meet.

Each meeting will have a participant who controls the Podium. This person should enforce a synchronized layout for all participants so that everyone is looking at the same screen. The Action menu is used to select the type of meeting layout used. Participants may view Powerpoint slides, Word Documents, Web Pages, a White Board or other applications shared from a participant's computer. The Layout menu is used to arrange camera views and applications within the browser window.
